Background

San Diego Reading Pathways was founded by Patrick Renker in 2010.  During college, Patrick found a passion for tutoring ESL (English as a Second Language) students and other undergraduates while working in the English Center at San Diego City College. After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley in 2001 with a degree in English Literature, Patrick began working with students with learning challenges at Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes in Menlo Park, California.  After a few months working with students of various learning disabilities (dyslexia, hyperlexia, autism, ADHD, etc.), he decided to focus his career on improving the academic lives of children (and in some cases adults).  After working for Lindamood-Bell for about 8 years at locations in the San Francisco Bay Area and San Diego, Patrick left Lindamood-Bell in 2010 and formed San Diego Reading Pathways to offer more flexible, affordable, and personalized services to students and parents.
